Maida House Sydney, NSW

A modern extension to a traditional inner city 1920s bungalow, Maida House was one of the first renovations successfully undertaken when the new Complying Development laws were introduced in inner Sydney.

Previously a small three bedroom weatherboard bungalow, with a tiny kitchen and living room – Pacific Built worked closely with the architect and client to dramatically lift the scale and feel of the property. Adding a second storey as a dedicated master retreat, and extending the living area to incorporate a sleek, modern kitchen and limestone tiled lounge area, the home became a functional family residence.

“We transformed the house from a small, original bungalow to a modern and stylish family residence, while retaining its façade and charm.”
